2026 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship


Dear Members and Golf Community Partners,

Niakwa Country Club is proud to be hosting the 2026 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship, presented by BDO, in Winnipeg from September 7–11, 2026.

To deliver a successful national championship experience for competitors, guests, and spectators, we are beginning our volunteer recruitment and would appreciate your support. This event will require a strong team of volunteers across several committees and roles throughout championship week.

Below are the key volunteer committees and roles currently being formed:

Volunteer Opportunity

Scoring Committee
  • Recruit all checkpoint scoring volunteers.
  • Secure standard bearers and walking-scorer for final two rounds.
Volunteer Services Committee
  • Recruit and manage the online volunteer registration database.
  • Liaise with committee chairs to establish volunteer schedules.
  • Spearhead volunteer uniforms with Golf Canada and distribute to volunteers.
  • Provide list of volunteers and addresses for Golf Canada.
  • Establish ‘volunteer hub’ during championship (Volunteer check-in and training).
  • Populate volunteer shift schedules as developed by each Committee Chair.
Clubhouse Committee

Clubhouse Committee

  • Supports all major on-site functions and player hospitality
  • Assists with the Player Reception and Awards Ceremony logistics
  • Helps coordinate food and beverage support during championship days
Communications Committee

Communications Committee

  • Supports event promotion and media operations
  • Assists with photography (registration headshots and on-course photos)
  • Helps coordinate 18th green announcing during the final round
Finance & Fundraising Committee

Finance & Fundraising Committee

  • Supports local fundraising and value-in-kind donations
  • Helps ensure championship activities stay within budget guidelines
  • Assists with managing and tracking supporter deliverables
Golf Shop, Caddie & Range Committee

Golf Shop, Caddie & Range Committee

  • Supports practice round coordination and tee time logistics
  • Assists with practice range setup, monitoring, and signage
  • Helps coordinate caddie support (where applicable)
Course Committee (On-Course Operations)

Course Committee (On-Course Operations)

  • Forecaddies/spotters in key landing areas
  • Pace of play checkpoint assistants
  • On-course hydration support (water/fruit stations and replenishment)
Player Services Committee

Player Services Committee

  • Supports championship registration and player information services
  • Assists with tourism information and general competitor support
  • Helps coordinate medical support and emergency resources
